I’d consider Washington Square Hotel if you want a stay beside Washington Square Park. The spa is a nice bonus.

More about this place

Washington Square Hotel is a historic Village base beside Washington Square Park, with Art Deco details, portrait-filled rooms, and a setting woven into the neighborhood’s creative history. It suits travelers who want the park, NYU, music clubs, cafés, and downtown streets close at hand rather than a Midtown tower experience.

The period lobby and mosaic floors lead to individually arranged rooms with compact city-hotel proportions. Queen and twin-bed categories give different options for couples or companions, and the exact room controls floor space and outlook. Park or skyline photographs do not mean that every room has the same view or outdoor access.

West 4th Street–Washington Square station provides a useful subway connection, with much of the Village best explored on foot. The hotel’s restaurant is closed for renovation when checked, so plan meals at neighborhood cafés and restaurants and confirm any breakfast inclusion on your rate. Ask the hotel about the most suitable room layout and access arrangements if stairs or space are a concern.
