More about this place
Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is as memorable as the exhibitions inside it.
Ride to the top and descend the ramp slowly, watching the architecture shape each view of the art and the rotunda below. The permanent Thannhauser Collection gives the visit a reliable core even when the main exhibition program changes.
Check the live exhibition and hours calendar before choosing a day because installations can close sections of the spiral. Online reservations are recommended, especially on weekends.

If you want an outdoor counterpoint to the museum, continue into the nearby park rather than planning another dense collection immediately afterward. Keeping the second part flexible gives you space to linger when an exhibition holds your attention.
