I’d go to Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree for a garden visit.
More about this place
Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree is New York’s defining public holiday landmark, filling the plaza above The Rink with thousands of lights and a crystal star. Walk through Channel Gardens for the classic approach, circle the plaza for different sightlines, and combine the stop with nearby windows or Radio City after dark.
The official 2026 tree arrives November 7 and the lighting ceremony runs December 2 from 7–10 p.m. Once illuminated, the tree remains on view through mid-January 2027; exact general visiting hours and the final removal date are still unpublished, and crowd controls intensify around the ceremony and weekend evenings.

Original curator notes · check current details.
Try a late-evening visit if the atmosphere matters more than being there at the busiest hour. A little patience between groups can open a clearer sightline along Channel Gardens without spending the whole visit in one photo queue.
