9/11 Memorial & Museum

9/11 Memorial & Museum is a place of remembrance and a deeply researched museum beneath the World Trade Center site, pairing the outdoor reflecting pools with artifacts, testimony, and the history of the attacks and their aftermath.

Allow the museum to be the emotional center of the block. The historical exhibition is extensive and can be intense; travelers who prefer a shorter or less graphic visit can spend time at the free outdoor memorial instead.

Reserve a timed museum entry, check the current Tuesday schedule, and avoid stacking another demanding museum immediately afterward. Families should prepare older children for the subject matter before entering.
