Manhattan Architecture Cruise is a narrated journey around the island that makes the skyline easier to read. From the water, towers, bridges and changing waterfront neighborhoods fit into a continuous story of how New York was built. A classic motor yacht provides an unusually comfortable setting for understanding the city’s design beyond a list of famous buildings.

The commentary explores architecture, engineering and urban development as the boat passes different stretches of shoreline. The usual longer circuit travels through the Hudson, harbor, East River and Harlem River, with bridges and varied building styles providing the structure of the trip. Enclosed salon seating and outdoor deck space let you alternate between listening, looking through the large windows and stepping outside for photographs.

Allow around three hours and check in at the ticket booth beside Pier 62 at Chelsea Piers before departure.
