Keep Day 1 to one mountain corridor, not all four saved attractions. Day 4 follows the Tortuguero departure, so choose a short La Fortuna activity. Day 5 connects Mistico, Río Celeste and a Bagaces overnight: choose one main outing. Day 9 lists El Tigre, Santa Elena and Selvatura; choose one substantial experience. Day 10 returns from Monteverde to San José; an early flight needs a different final-night plan.

01 · Poás Volcano National Park, Alajuela
A timed crater visit at an active volcano. Check SINAC reservations and current official access notices before traveling; gas, weather and volcanic activity can change the visit, and a ticket does not guarantee a clear crater view.
A private waterfall-and-wildlife attraction in Vara Blanca, not downtown San José. Separate the waterfall trails from the managed wildlife exhibits and verify current inclusions; the original curation is not a guarantee of hot-spring access.
A countryside waterfall record grouped with San José. Confirm the precise operator and entrance against the saved pin; allow a separate mountain journey and assess the steep, slippery approach before committing.
Catarata del Toro and Blue Falls are related but distinct visits in the Bajos del Toro area. Compare the current ticket, trail and guided-access inclusions; do not assume one waterfall admission includes every swimming area.
Keep arrival day light for the boat connection and a village walk. Match the return boat to your onward transfer; river lodges can require an additional lodge boat beyond the village dock.
Arrange the exact canoe, kayak or motorboat experience and confirm whether park admission is included. Canal wildlife viewing is different from a regulated seasonal nesting visit on the beach; sightings remain uncertain.
A forest walk near La Fortuna for a slower wildlife-focused morning. Decide whether you want a guide and leave time to observe quietly; a sloth sighting is not guaranteed.
Plan for the steps down to the waterfall and the climb back up. Check the operator’s conditions before entering the water; a short curated visit allowance does not include the journey or a relaxed swim.
Choose the Arenal 1968 private trail for lava-field scenery and volcano views when visibility allows. Its admission is separate from Arenal Volcano National Park; this is not a summit climb.
A viewpoint and short walking stop on the lake-and-volcano side of Arenal. Choose it for the scenery rather than treating it as another full volcano hike.
Choose a hanging-bridge circuit for a different view of the forest canopy. Confirm the actual route, guide and mobility requirements; a bridge circuit is not a zipline ticket.
A brief roadside tree stop near the Río Celeste corridor, rather than a La Fortuna town attraction. Use the saved pin to check the approach; do not build a trip around unverified age or cultural legends.
Give Río Celeste its own Tenorio outing. SINAC describes the full out-and-back trail as about 6 km and three hours; the waterfall-only visit is shorter. Conditions can change the trail and water appearance.
A practical Pacific beach base for a slower stay, with Langosta and other coastal localities nearby. Keep the tide, surf conditions and exact accommodation location central to your beach plans.
Choose a self-guided forest walk or a booked natural-history tour. The preserve currently recommends online booking and arrival 15 minutes before the timed shuttle departure from its visitor center; a late arrival may miss entry.
Make El Tigre the main outing: the saved allowance is four hours. Compare the current hiking and assisted-return options with the operator. Original curator prices are historical and are not current quotes.
A separate cloud-forest reserve from Monteverde Preserve. Choose a trail length for your group and verify the reserve’s own admission, guided walks and transport rather than reusing another park’s ticket.
Choose between canopy ziplining, hanging bridges and the operator’s other experiences. Compare actual package inclusions, restrictions and pickup arrangements; a bridge walk and a zipline are different products.
A city walk that fits a San José day, with nearby markets and cultural stops chosen around their own hours. Keep baggage and valuables secure rather than carrying a full road-trip load through busy streets.
Choose a guided food outing or your own market-and-neighborhood walk. Confirm the meeting point, dietary needs and actual stops with the operator; venues named in original curator tips are recommendations, not a current opening check.
Locations from Fyno’s curated places. Use current road and site guidance for access; pins are not a driving route.

10-day default · Forest, canals & a Pacific finish
A 10-day starting plan through the Central Valley, Tortuguero, Arenal, Tamarindo and Monteverde. Choose the main outings; this is not a seven-day tour of both coasts.
