Árbol de la Paz (Tree of Peace) is a historic and cultural landmark, estimated to be more than 500 years old. It is considered a symbol of peace and unity among the different ethnic groups in the region, including the indigenous Bribrí and Cabécar people. According to local legend, the tree was used as a meeting place for indigenous tribes to resolve conflicts and make peace. The tree's massive trunk, which measures more than 12 meters in circumference, is covered in carvings and etchings that tell the story of the different cultures and communities that have gathered under its branches over the centuries.
