Ortisei & Val Gardena

Choose Ortisei for its town and lift departures, or Selva for a different Val Gardena base. Seceda, Alpe di Siusi and Sassolungo deserve separate walking choices.

Before you set off

Start with one lift area

  1. Seceda and Alpe di Siusi are separate outings

Choose the lift and signed walk that match your day. Check last descents and ticket coverage rather than assuming one pass includes every service. [3][4]

  2. Sassolungo is another walking day

Choose a defined Sassolungo route separately from Seceda or Alpe di Siusi. A shorter refuge outing and a circuit around the massif need different time and terrain decisions.

  3. Keep distant stops distinct

Val di Funes, Carezza, Sass Pordoi and Pozza di Fassa need separate journeys from Ortisei. Choose one area that fits your direction of travel and leave time for the return.

  4. Keep one main outing

Choose the day’s focus, then add meals, access, the return and your next overnight. Compare the complete route before adding another valley.

Questions before you go

Are Seceda and Alpe di Siusi the same lift outing?

No. Choose the particular departure and return for each area. An Ortisei town stay can serve either plan, but the two mountain areas need separate time and ticket checks. [4]

Is Val di Funes part of Ortisei town?

No. Val di Funes is another valley. Pair Ranui and the valley viewpoints deliberately, allowing the approach and return rather than adding them as an Ortisei town walk.
