Scenic drives for your trip
Choose a short scenic section that fits your overnight base. Passo Giau, Val di Funes and Lake Garda are different drives; the view is not a reason to ignore weather, parking or transfer time.

Before you set off
Choose a scenic stretch that fits the day
Passo Giau: a pass visit
Check road conditions and stop only in designated places. Choose a viewpoint stop or a separate named walk, rather than an undefined hike after a long drive.
Val di Funes: a destination valley
Leave time for the valley and permitted viewpoints. Narrow roads and private meadows make a considered stop more useful than an improvised photo detour.
Garda: choose the shore
Gardone, Malcesine and Sirmione are different parts of the lake. Use the shore near your overnight rather than assuming the two-hour activity allowance covers a full circuit.
Questions before you go
Do I need to drive all the way around Garda?
No. Choose a stretch and a town on the shore near your hotel. That usually leaves more time to stop than trying to fit every shore into one short outing.
Where should I stop for views in Val di Funes?
Use designated parking and public paths around the valley’s viewpoints. Keep fields private and the narrow roads clear.
