Mountain views & walks

Choose how you want to reach the view: a lift-and-terrace visit, a signed walk or a substantial mountain day. A famous mountain name does not specify the terrain.

Before you set off

Lift-served views or a full walking day?

  1. Lift-assisted views

Seceda, Lagazuoi and Sass Pordoi have distinct lifts and return times. At Sass Pordoi, the terrace visit is separate from a hike across the high plateau. [3][18]

  2. A full walking day

Tre Cime, Sassolungo and Brenta each need a selected route. A via ferrata is a different activity from a marked walking trail. [1][16]

  3. Choose one area

A good mountain day has time for approach, breaks, weather decisions and return. Use the route to choose the next overnight rather than adding a second major outing.

Questions before you go

Does a lift ticket include the walk beyond the top station?

A lift provides an approach, not a selected trail or a guaranteed return on foot. Choose the named walk, current conditions and last descent separately. [4]

Is a terrace visit the same as a full mountain hike?

No. Sass Pordoi and Lagazuoi offer lift-and-terrace visits; routes beyond them are separate mountain outings with their own terrain, weather and time requirements. [18]
