When to visit the Dolomites
For a first trip focused on mountain walks, start by looking at July–September, then check the individual trails and lifts. Earlier or later dates can work for a different pace, but do not assume the same high-mountain plan is available throughout the season.

October and early November: check every lift
A quieter calendar can also mean fewer open services and less room for a long day. The Seceda operator’s published summer 2026 schedule runs through November 2; that date is historical planning context, not a promise for another year or a live operating check. [3][4]
Questions before you go
Is October a good time to visit the Dolomites?
It can suit a trip with flexible walks and a slower pace, provided the lifts, roads and services you need are operating. Check each date rather than assuming every summer outing remains practical. [3][4]
Are the 2027 parking rules already confirmed?
Do not copy the 2026 calendar forward. Braies’ official page says summer traffic regulation will return in 2027 and that more information will follow in spring 2027. Recheck before booking your access. [2]
Does a lift pass cover every Seceda lift?
No universal coverage should be assumed. Seceda lists specific ticket conditions and says Dolomiti Super Summer tickets are not accepted on its Ortisei–Furnes, Furnes–Seceda and Fermeda lifts. Check the exact pass, lift and travel date. [3]
Can I trust a May–October label on a saved itinerary?
Use it as the route’s broad planning season, not confirmation of a trail, road or lift being open. Check the activities you choose for the actual date and keep alternatives. [1][4]
