SWEETS - Hortusbrug is a private adults-only bridge-house suite suspended over the Nieuwe Herengracht beside Hortus Botanicus. The modernist former operator's cabin turns a tiny footprint into a front-row canal stay, with water on both sides, a compact pantry, a heated bathroom floor, and windows that make boats and cyclists part of the view.
This is a stay for couples who want architecture and privacy more than hotel services: there is no restaurant, lobby, elevator, or on-site parking, and the house sleeps two. The bridge house dates to 1956, sits an easy walk from ARTIS and Waterlooplein, and feels remarkably removed once the door closes.
