More about this place
Tre Cime di Lavaredo is the Dolomites’ iconic three-tower massif, best explored on the walking circuit from Rifugio Auronzo. The route passes high refuges and opens onto the sheer north faces, with changing perspectives rather than a single roadside viewpoint.
Allow four to five hours for the circuit, photographs and short rests; a long hut lunch adds time. Follow the signed 101 and 105 paths via Rifugio Lavaredo, Forcella Lavaredo and the northern side of the peaks, returning to the same starting area. A multi-landmark sightseeing tour does not automatically include a guide or enough time for this full loop.
The high road, parking and seasonal shuttles require current planning. Reserve the appropriate car-access slot or shuttle through the official links, then check road opening, the last return service and mountain weather before setting out. Carry water, layers and proper walking shoes, and finish in daylight. The advertised summer route assumes an accessible trailhead and snow-free paths.
