Val Gardena & Cortina · winter
Four ski days. Room for the journey.
The seven-day starting plan contains arrival, three Val Gardena ski days, a road transfer, one Cortina ski day and departure. There is no selected hotel on the transfer night; arrange that Cortina night before booking the journey.
Match the piste to your level
The Sellaronda needs suitable skiing ability, working connections and enough time to return before the last lifts. It is not a beginner lesson. Start with an appropriate local day; a multi-area pass does not make every area ski-connected.
Official ski operations & passes →Keep Cortina as a separate base
Val Gardena to Cortina is a road or booked-transfer journey. Check the winter route, vehicle requirements and luggage arrangements. Confirm the exact pass coverage and open lifts for each ski day; arrival and departure dates are not opening guarantees.
Compare mountain seasons →Editorial review November 5, 2026. The saved December–April season is a planning label; check the operator’s current calendar, open lifts, pass rules and conditions for your exact dates.

Day 1Arrive in Val GardenaOrtisei
Plan the day: The first day is arrival and Ortisei village time, not a full ski day. Confirm equipment collection, your hotel’s ski transport and the next morning’s access.
If plans change: Arrive, settle in and keep skiing for the following day.
Things to do
- Ortisei1-3h
Suggested stay
Day 2Find your level in Val GardenaOrtisei
Plan the day: Choose open pistes that match your ability. Lessons and a local ski day make more sense than a circuit for a first-time skier.
If plans change: Stay in an appropriate local sector and use a qualified instructor if needed.
Things to do
Suggested stay
Day 3Seceda and Col RaiserOrtisei
Plan the day: Confirm the open lifts and return connection from your actual base. A regional pass and the full Dolomiti Superski pass do not have identical coverage.
If plans change: Ski a local sector whose access and return are operating; leave summit views for another day.
Things to do
Suggested stay
Day 4A circuit only when it fitsOrtisei
Plan the day: The Sellaronda is a full linked ski outing, not a beginner lesson. Check direction, open connections and last-lift times with the lift operator before setting off.
If plans change: Keep a local ski day if ability, visibility, queues or connections leave too little margin.
Things to do
Suggested stay
Day 5Transfer to CortinaCortina
Plan the day: This is a road or booked-transfer day between bases, not a piste connection. The saved day has no selected overnight: arrange a Cortina room for this night before departure.
If plans change: Keep the day free for winter road conditions, luggage and check-in; do not promise a full ski day as well.
Things to do
Keep this day flexible for travel and exploring.
Stays in Cortina d'Ampezzo
Day 6Tofana from CortinaCortina
Plan the day: Choose the operating Tofana sector for your level. Check lift status, transport from town and the pass that covers the actual day.
If plans change: Use an appropriate open local area or take a town day if conditions or your ability rule out the planned sector.
Things to do
Suggested stay
Day 7Leave the mountainsCortina
Plan the day: The seventh day is departure. Match the actual airport or onward station to winter road conditions and your transfer booking.
If plans change: Add a gateway overnight if an early flight would require an unreliable mountain connection.
Things to do
Keep this day flexible for travel and exploring.
