I’d go to Faloria-Cristallo Ski Area for a gondola ride.
More about this place
Faloria–Cristallo Ski Area is Cortina’s eastern ski day, reached from town for a mix of panoramic red terrain and technical Olympic-era pistes. Its eastern mountain aspect offers a different outlook from Tofana and suits groups seeking a contained sector rather than a long inter-valley circuit.
For road access, start at Rio Gere and use the Pian de ra Bigontina chairlift when operating; check the operator’s current access advice because parking arrangements in town can change. Ride up only after checking the live sector report, warm up on the easier available pistes, and add technical runs such as Vitelli or Canalone Franchetti only for skiers whose ability and conditions match. Plan a full day around repeated quality laps, a mountain lunch, and the final lift connection back to your actual starting point rather than trying to connect to every Cortina sector.
A Cortina-area or compatible Dolomiti Superski pass is required. Wind, cloud, snow control, and event operations can change lift access without warning, and the resort day is not suitable for non-skiing pets or very young children. Carry a piste map, goggles for flat light, and an insulating layer for exposed lifts. In poor visibility, stay below the cloud line or choose a spa or town activity instead of forcing upper-mountain terrain.
Allow four to seven hours onsite, from a shorter ski session to a full lift day with normal breaks. Hotel approach, equipment collection and any separately booked lessons are additional unless included in your selected product. Keep to open marked terrain suited to the group.
