I’d consider Mālaekahana State Recreation Area Campground if you want a camping stay.

More about this place

Mālaekahana State Recreation Area Campground is a tent-camping base in the Kalanai Point section of a wooded beach park near Lāʻie. Ironwood trees, grassy clearings and a long sandy shoreline give this part of windward Oʻahu a quieter outdoor setting.

Developed tent sites have access to shared restrooms, outdoor rinsing showers, water fountains and picnic tables. Bring your own camping equipment and follow the assigned site’s capacity and layout. Sleeping in a car, campervan or trailer is not permitted in the state campground.

Reserve a camping permit through the official state portal before arrival; reservations open up to 30 days ahead. Wednesday and Thursday nights are unavailable, and seasonal gate hours limit vehicle access. Use the Kalanai Point section, check current park notices and assess ocean conditions before entering the water.
