Aspen, Snowmass & Glenwood
Aspen puts you near town and the Maroon Bells approach. Snowmass Village suits a resort base outside Aspen. Glenwood Springs suits Hanging Lake and the I-70 corridor; it adds a separate drive to Aspen.
Choose Denver, Estes Park, the Roaring Fork Valley, the southwest or the San Luis Valley to match your route. A state-wide road trip needs several bases, not one hotel for every outing.

Make the trip fit you
Aspen puts you near town and the Maroon Bells approach. Snowmass Village suits a resort base outside Aspen. Glenwood Springs suits Hanging Lake and the I-70 corridor; it adds a separate drive to Aspen.
Central Colorado Springs works for a city evening. Garden of the Gods properties put the rocks closer. Manitou Springs suits the cog railway approach but does not remove mountain access checks.
Union Station and downtown suit a city-focused arrival. RiNo suits the Ramble and nearby neighborhood time. Cherry Creek and the Botanic Gardens area are different city bases; none is a mountain trailhead.
Far View Lodge is inside the park. Hampton Inn and Retro Inn are in Cortez. Sunny Southwest Cottage is in the Mancos area, east of Cortez. Check the entrance-to-site drive before an early tour.
The five listed stays are in the Estes Park area, on the east side of the park. Grand Lake and Monarch Lake are different approaches. A closed Trail Ridge Road does not provide a shortcut between them.
Great Sand Dunes Lodge is near the park approach. Rustic Rook is farther west near Mosca; Fairfield is in Alamosa. The source camping pin represents a permitted backcountry experience, not a hotel room or fixed campsite.
The Hotel Telluride is in Telluride; Inn at Lost Creek is in Mountain Village. Imogene and St. Elmo Hotel are in Ouray. Hampton Inn, Riverbend and the Old School Lodge belong to the Montrose area.
