I’d go to Guardastelle for a vineyard visit.

I like to choose an Italian region for its own rhythm, then give it enough time. Rome rewards long walks between ancient landmarks and neighborhood tables; Florence and Tuscany pair Renaissance art with vineyards and hill towns. In the Dolomites, the mountains and the season set the pace, while Sardinia calls for coastal drives, clear-water coves, and time in its villages.

My favorite approach is to leave breathing room between the famous sights. Choose a city trip, a Tuscan or Sardinian road journey, or an alpine adventure from this collection, then let the smaller moments become part of the trip.

Guardastelle is a winery and olive-oil estate outside San Gimignano, with vineyard views and guided tastings of its Tuscan wines. The visit connects the surrounding landscape with the grapes, cellar work and local food.

Choose between a roughly 2½h vineyard-and-cellar tour with lunch, starting at noon, and a shorter afternoon vineyard visit with an aperitif tasting. The lunch introduces five wines alongside Tuscan dishes; the mini experience combines wine with local snacks. Reserve ahead because places are limited.

The winery advertises April–October operation, Monday–Saturday, with Sunday closed. Allow 2–3h according to the product and confirm the current start time. Children are welcome with age-specific food prices; this does not include alcohol for minors. Arrange a designated driver or transport if tasting, and confirm dietary requirements and the exact meeting point when booking.
