More about this place
Alpe di Siusi is Europe’s largest high alpine pasture, a broad car-restricted plateau where meadow trails, mountain huts, winter slopes, and views of the Sciliar and Sassolungo groups create one of the Dolomites’ defining landscapes.
A short visit can focus on Compatsch and an easy panoramic walk, while a full day can connect longer hiking or cycling routes between huts. An e-bike is especially useful for covering the plateau’s distance and elevation without turning every climb into the main event; in winter, lifts and groomed routes transform the same terrain into a ski and snow-walk hub.
Private vehicle access is restricted while the cable car operates, so check current lift hours and mobility rules on the official tourism site before setting out. Allow two to eight hours depending on the chosen route, carry mountain layers and sun protection, and reserve rentals directly with a verified local operator if needed.
