I’d go to Alpe di Siusi Ski Day for a gondola ride.
More about this place
Alpe di Siusi Ski Day is a sunny, wide-open day on gentler Dolomites terrain reached from Ortisei. It suits mixed-ability groups, families with older children, and skiers who want a lower-pressure alternative to the steeper circuits without giving up the plateau’s mountain scale.
Start early at the Ortisei–Alpe di Siusi lift; use the Mont Sëuc garage at the valley station, rather than a road destination on the plateau. Choose easy and intermediate pistes around the plateau, and build a loop around confidence rather than distance. Leave time for a mountain-hut lunch and for the return lift connection; the area’s spread-out layout makes a piste map and deliberate turnaround time more useful than chasing every sector.
A local Val Gardena/Alpe di Siusi or compatible Dolomiti Superski product is required. Lessons, rentals, meals, and some transport are separate, and weather or lift closures can shorten the plan. Check the live operating report before leaving town and carry warm layers because exposed plateau wind can change the feel quickly.
Allow four to seven hours onsite, from a shorter ski session to a full lift day with normal breaks. Hotel approach, equipment collection and any separately booked lessons are additional unless included in your selected product. Keep to open marked terrain suited to the group.
