I’d include Uffizi Gallery for a museum stop.

I like to choose an Italian region for its own rhythm, then give it enough time. Rome rewards long walks between ancient landmarks and neighborhood tables; Florence and Tuscany pair Renaissance art with vineyards and hill towns. In the Dolomites, the mountains and the season set the pace, while Sardinia calls for coastal drives, clear-water coves, and time in its villages.

My favorite approach is to leave breathing room between the famous sights. Choose a city trip, a Tuscan or Sardinian road journey, or an alpine adventure from this collection, then let the smaller moments become part of the trip.

Uffizi Gallery is a Renaissance art museum in the former offices of Florence’s magistrates with Renaissance paintings and ancient sculpture. Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and Primavera, Michelangelo’s Tondo Doni, and works by Leonardo, Raphael, Titian, and Caravaggio make this a visit worth planning around.

Allow two to three hours for the main galleries, with security and any ticket queue additional. Reserve a timed admission before arranging other visits; a reservation does not remove security checks. The museum normally opens Tuesday to Sunday, 08:15–18:30, and closes on Mondays.

Follow your ticket’s entrance instructions in the Uffizi courtyard. Large bags and umbrellas go in the cloakroom. The Vasari Corridor is a separate access product; ordinary gallery admission does not automatically include it.
