I’d put Accademia Gallery on the list for a museum stop.

I like to choose an Italian region for its own rhythm, then give it enough time. Accademia Gallery is Florence’s art museum best known for Michelangelo’s David and the unfinished Prisoners sculptures. Seeing the monumental David alongside the rough stone figures makes the sculptor’s process unusually tangible; allow one to two hours for these works and the painting galleries.
