I’d include Valle della Luna for a beach stop.

More about this place

Valle della Luna is a granite landscape at Cala Grande on Capo Testa, where weathered boulders surround narrow paths and small sea inlets. Its quieter coves and sculpted rock offer a more rugged setting than Sardinia’s organized beach clubs, with the open coast close throughout the walk.

Allow one to two hours for an unhurried exploration and return, adding time if you stop by a cove. Reach the valley on the established footpath from the Capo Testa road area; the regional tourism board describes a winding approach of about 700 metres. Wear grippy shoes, carry water and keep to ground that you can comfortably retrace rather than scrambling toward an exposed edge.

There is no ordinary admission ticket, and this is a self-guided outdoor visit. Swimming depends on the sea, with wind and waves capable of making a sheltered-looking inlet unsuitable. Ordinary pets cannot accompany the daytime beach portion during the bathing season; that restriction does not declare every inland path dog-free.
