I’d put Riomaggiore on the list for a vineyard visit.
More about this place
Riomaggiore is a Cinque Terre village whose tall, colorful houses rise between steep hills above a small harbor. Narrow lanes, changing elevations and glimpses of the sea make the walk feel distinctly vertical, with the village’s working waterfront as its focal point.
Allow two to four hours for the streets, harbor views and a relaxed food stop. Explore the main lane and side passages, then climb toward the church area if the steps suit your group. Church interiors, cooking classes and other booked experiences are optional additions; they are not included in the village walking allowance.
The public streets require no admission reservation. Wear shoes with grip and keep children close around steps and harbor edges. Check sea conditions before approaching exposed rocks. The Via dell’Amore and other coastal trails have separate access and weather rules, so do not treat a village visit as automatic permission to walk onward to another town.
