More about this place
Quiraing Viewpoint Walk is a short introduction to Skye's extraordinary landslip landscape, with ridges and strange rock shapes opening out from the high road pass. It suits a scenic stop that keeps the full exposed hill circuit as a separate, more demanding choice.
Use the designated parking at the Staffin–Uig pass and follow the initial signed path only as far as a comfortable viewpoint before returning. Allow about an hour including time to look and take photographs. This outing does not include the complete Quiraing circuit, its upper escarpment or the more difficult sections beyond.
Choose the turnaround for the actual wind, visibility and footing rather than a fixed target. Even the first section crosses steep ground and is unsuitable in severe weather. Wear shoes with grip, keep away from edges and use legal parking; passing places and hairpin bends are not overflow spaces.
