Experience with a guide
I’d go to Waiʻānapanapa Black Sand Beach for some time by the beach.
More about this place
Waiʻānapanapa Black Sand Beach is a compact state-park stop where jet-black pebbles, sea caves, lava arches, and bright coastal plants create one of East Maui’s sharpest visual contrasts.
Walk beyond the main beach for quieter cliff views and cultural sites, but stay back from blowholes and wet lava shelves when the ocean is active. The cove can be rough and is not a dependable swimming beach.
Allow one to two hours for the beach, viewpoints and short paths, staying within your reserved entry and parking window.
