I’d put Keʻanae Peninsula Coastal Stop on the list for waterfall views.
More about this place
Keʻanae Peninsula Coastal Stop is a short walk into East Maui’s living coastal landscape, where black lava meets crashing surf beside green kalo fields and a small stone church. The appeal is the contrast: a working Hawaiian community and open ocean, rather than another roadside waterfall queue.
Turn off the Hāna Highway onto Keʻanae Road and use the legal parking by the county park. Allow about thirty minutes to enjoy the coast and public-road views, returning to the same parking area. Keep driveways clear, leave farm paths and church grounds to their owners, and buy any snacks only from an open local business.
This is a shoreline-viewing stop, not a swimming beach: powerful waves can wash across the rocks. Stay on dry, safe ground well back from the edge, supervise children closely and skip exposed sections in rough weather. The park has accessible parking and restrooms; the rocky coast itself has uneven footing.
