I’d go to Hoʻokipa Lookout & Sea Turtles for some time by the beach.
More about this place
Hoʻokipa Lookout & Sea Turtles is a breezy North Shore stop pairs a clifftop view of expert windsurfers with the chance to see Hawaiian green sea turtles resting on the sand below. Begin at the lookout to read the surf and watch the water, then use the marked beach access only when conditions support it; the drama comes from wind, waves, and wildlife rather than from a conventional swimming day.
Allow about 30 minutes for the overlook and beach edge, with no admission or advance booking. Parking is straightforward when the lot is not full, but the shoreline can be rough and should never be treated as beginner water. Wildlife volunteers may establish a broad protected zone around resting turtles, and children need close supervision near surf, rocks, and the access slope.

Original curator notes · check current details.
Late afternoon often brings turtles ashore, but give them generous space and follow every barrier or volunteer direction.
Keep the exit route clear, use a zoom lens for photographs, and check current ocean warnings before walking down.
