Where to stay in Bali

Choose Ubud for inland days, Sanur for a planned Sanur-port departure, a Penida overnight for island time, or a highland or East Bali base for a slower regional focus.

Make the trip fit you

Make the journey work

Ubud & inland Bali

Choose a central Ubud stay for town walks, or a village villa for quiet time with arranged transport. A place labelled Ubud can still sit well beyond the centre.

Bedugul, Munduk & the highlands

Sleep around Munduk or Wanagiri for a northern hill retreat; choose the Penebel countryside for Jatiluwih. These are different bases, not interchangeable lakefront stays.

Nusa Penida

A west-side base suits Kelingking and Crystal Bay outings. An eastern stay suits Diamond Beach and Thousand Islands; it adds a substantial road connection to the northern ports.

South Bali & the coast

Sanur fits a planned Sanur-port departure. Canggu puts you on the west coast. Ungasan puts you on the Bukit peninsula, with a separate drive to most town and port stops.

East Bali

Jasri offers a coastal Karangasem setting. Mathis Lodge sits above Amed with its own uphill transfer arrangements. Neither is a central Ubud base.
