Plan your Iceland trip budget
Build the budget from your actual dates, group size and quotes. Separate shared trip costs from per-person costs, then compare the total before deciding what to change. Use one currency and check what each quote includes.
PLAN YOUR SPEND
Build your own trip estimate
Start with your group and trip length, then add costs in one currency.
Blank costs count as zero, so this is a partial estimate until every category is entered. Changing currency opens a separate set of amounts; it does not convert prices.
Need a starting point?
Compare a hotel for your dates, a full car rental and the activities you want. For meals, choose a daily allowance that reflects cafés, restaurants or cooking. Costs vary by dates, room setup and route. Use prices for your own trip.

Use one currency throughout
Choose one currency and use it throughout the calculator. Convert quotes yourself using the same dated rate before entering them. A per-night room rate and a per-person package are different amounts.

Compare the biggest costs first
Compare the number of nights, room arrangement, rental choice and paid experiences. Removing a small meal expense will not necessarily offset an extra room or a longer rental.

Budget from your actual dates
Trip costs change with dates, room arrangements, transport and the experiences you choose. A single daily headline can hide those differences. Enter the quotes you actually plan to use, then compare complete trip totals.

Questions before you go
Does this include live prices?
No. Enter your own quotes in one currency. The result is a planning estimate; the providers’ final prices, terms and availability govern any booking.
What does per person mean here?
The calculator divides the whole-trip total by the number of travelers. It shares entered group costs equally and adds the per-person flight and daily meal amounts you entered.
Which currency does the Iceland budget calculator use?
The calculator starts in USD and also offers ISK, EUR and GBP. Enter all costs in the selected currency. Each currency keeps its own set of entries; switching does not convert quotes using an exchange rate.
How does the calculator work out hotel costs?
Enter an average price per room per night, the number of rooms each night and the total hotel nights. It multiplies those three amounts. If hotel rates vary, divide the full accommodation total by rooms and nights to find the appropriate average.
Which costs are shared and which are per person?
Car rental, activities and other costs are whole-trip totals for the group. Return flights are per person; food and drinks are per person per day. The calculator adds them, then divides the group total equally by the traveler count.
What should I include beyond hotels, flights and a rental car?
Add food, paid experiences, fuel or charging, parking, ferries, airport transfers and a contingency. Check taxes, insurance, bags and breakfast in the relevant quotes to avoid leaving them out or counting the same cost twice. Blank categories count as zero.
