Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon?

Choose Blue Lagoon for…

Milky-blue water and lava scenery near Keflavík. Comfort starts at ISK 11,990 and includes a towel, locker, silica mask and one non-alcoholic drink. Check volcanic-area access before an airport-day visit.

Choose Sky Lagoon for…

Ocean views near Reykjavík and the Skjól ritual. Saman starts at ISK 14,990 with shared changing; Sér starts at ISK 17,990 with private changing. Sky Lagoon admits ages 12 and above.

Both need a reserved time that fits your day. Use the operator links above for current packages and family rules; transport and meal extras are separate choices.

A different kind of outing

Reykjadalur is a hike, not a spa booking

The hot river above Hveragerði can be a rewarding outing when the trail is open and conditions suit the hike. It needs time, suitable footwear and a separate weather decision. Do not treat the managed Reykjaböð venue as the same experience.

Visit South Iceland advises checking closures with Safetravel, staying on the marked paths and respecting the fragile ground. Follow local bathing signs; hot springs beside the trail are not interchangeable swimming spots.

Explore the Reykjadalur hiking outing →

Leave room for changing conditions

Managed facilities can offer a shorter outdoor outing than a hike, but winter roads, wind and temporary closures can still change the plan. Check official road conditions, Safetravel alerts and the operator before departure. Reserve a time with enough driving margin, follow shower and bathing rules, and bring swimwear.

For a shorter or winter trip, choose the baths near your existing route rather than adding the north and east to reach a particular pool. Compare Iceland’s starting itineraries before deciding.

This guide covers the ten managed venues in Fyno’s reviewed Iceland shortlist. Prices and facilities can change after the check date. The natural river is a separate conditional outing. Map pins are location references, not parking or access instructions. For step-free access or specific changing needs, confirm arrangements directly with the operator.
