The hike to Volandstind Peak is a moderately challenging yet thrilling outdoor adventure that rewards you with stunning panoramic views.

It is approximately 3 miles long and involves a steep ascent to the peak at 1,500 ft. The trail offers breathtaking views of surrounding mountains, fjords, scenic bridges, and the charming village of Fredvang. The hike typically takes around 2-3 hours to complete, depending on your fitness level and how long you wish to enjoy the views.

The trailhead is easily accessible by car and there's a parking area available. As with any hike in Norway, wearing appropriate hiking shoes and packing a waterproof jacket, snacks, and plenty of water is recommended.

The Bodø to Moskenes Ferry is a scenic way to get to Lofoten Islands after landing in the major airport in Bodø. This offers a memorable journey through the dramatic landscapes of the Norwegian coastline.

During high season from June to August the ferry departs 6-8 times a day from early morning to late night. So if you want to start your itinerary as early as possible in Moskenes – land, get your car, and head straight to the ferry terminal. It will still take you 3 or 4 hours to get to Moskenes.

In low season, or if you don't want to stress out about tight schedules – start your trip with the first night in Bodø, and depart to Moskenes the very next morning. There are just two ferries from Bodø to Moskenes outside of summer months: early morning and ~4 pm, so plan accordingly.
