The first part of the hike leads to Kvalvika Beach, a remote and picturesque sandy beach nestled between steep cliffs. After enjoying some time at the beach, you'll continue to the summit of Ryten for awe-inspiring views over Kvalvika Beach and the surrounding landscape.

The hike typically takes 4-5 hours to complete, depending on the time spent at the beach and the your fitness level. You can also turn back after Kvalvika Beach if you don't feel like completing the hike.

Remember to wear appropriate hiking footwear, pack a waterproof jacket, and bring enough water and snacks for the hike. This hike is a remarkable experience that showcases the unparalleled beauty of the Lofoten Islands.

Moskenes

The Bodø to Moskenes Ferry is a scenic way to get to Lofoten Islands after landing in the major airport in Bodø. This offers a memorable journey through the dramatic landscapes of the Norwegian coastline.

During high season from June to August the ferry departs 6-8 times a day from early morning to late night. So if you want to start your itinerary as early as possible in Moskenes – land, get your car, and head straight to the ferry terminal. It will still take you 3 or 4 hours to get to Moskenes.

In low season, or if you don't want to stress out about tight schedules – start your trip with the first night in Bodø, and depart to Moskenes the very next morning. There are just two ferries from Bodø to Moskenes outside of summer months: early morning and ~4 pm, so plan accordingly.
