Choose a coast before a hotel. Cagliari, Bosa, Alghero, Porto Cervo and Cala Gonone make five different bases, each with its own arrival, beach and driving tradeoffs.
For a short beach break, settle in one area. For the saved ten-day circuit, change bases as you go. The route has nine selected nights across five bases; it does not include flights, a ferry crossing or a final Cagliari night.

Cagliari
City evenings & the southern shore
Cagliari
Walk in town; separate trips to Nora and southern beaches.
Bosa
A historic-town pause on the west coast
Between Cagliari and Alghero
A road-trip stop; Porto Flavia is far to the south.
Alghero
Old-town time & the northwest
Alghero
Compare the old town with Via Lido before booking.
Porto Cervo
Gallura villages & Costa Smeralda beaches
Olbia
A car is useful for separate village and beach outings.
Cala Gonone
Gulf of Orosei boat days
Compare Olbia and Cagliari with your route
Confirm the harbour connection and keep a sea-weather alternative.
Give the western move a day
Porto Flavia lies on the southwestern mining coast. Bosa is a different overnight on the way north. In the saved route, the move between them is a major driving day; make the mining visit or a more direct arrival the priority.
Know which Alghero you booked
The old town, Via Lido and the Capo Caccia area are different settings. Alma di Alghero’s official address is Via Lido 29. Choose how you want to spend evenings, then confirm the walk, parking and arrival approach with your hotel. Official address ↗
Give the sea day a second chance
Cala Gonone is a departure base for Gulf of Orosei excursions. Brancamaria is above the harbour area, with a shuttle described on its official site. Confirm the current service with the hotel, and the meeting point and sea-weather terms with the boat operator. Hotel location & shuttle ↗
North or south Sardinia?
Choose the arrival and the days you want.
Choose the north for an Alghero or Olbia arrival and time around its own coast. Choose the south for Cagliari city time, Nora and the Teulada coast. Neither half is always cheaper, quieter or better for families: compare the same room, dates, transport and access before deciding.

The tradeoff
Old town and northwest
Alghero, arriving at Alghero
Stintino/La Pelosa and Capo Caccia are separate outings; Costa Paradiso is farther along the north coast.
Gallura coves and villages
Porto Cervo, comparing an Olbia arrival
A car connects separate beaches and San Pantaleo. This is not a walking base for all northern Sardinia.
City plus southern coast
Cagliari, arriving at Cagliari
Walk in the city; Nora, Tuerredda and the southeast beaches require different excursion plans.
Gulf of Orosei boat day
Cala Gonone, comparing the full arrival journey
The east coast is its own choice. Confirm the named departure harbour and leave a sea-weather buffer.
Three or four nights: stay on one coast
Match the base to your arrival and choose one main outing per day. A cross-island transfer for a single beach can consume the time you wanted to spend there. Keep your last night compatible with the actual flight or ferry.
A week: compare one base with two
Use a second base only when the places you want justify packing and driving. Alghero plus a Gallura base connects different northern experiences; Cagliari plus a second southern setting can focus the trip without circling the island. These are editorial adaptations, not extra saved Fyno routes.
Ten days: follow the route’s real nights
The saved circuit starts in Cagliari, moves via Bosa and Alghero to Porto Cervo and Cala Gonone, then returns via Barumini. It selects nine nights in five bases. Read each move before choosing both north and south; it is a road trip, not a beach week in one hotel.

01 · Cagliari · city & southern shore
A Via Roma city base facing the port. Choose it for Cagliari evenings; Nora and the southern beaches are separate excursions. Confirm the unloading and parking approach with the hotel.
A historic-town stop in Bosa, rather than a beach resort. It breaks the journey toward Alghero, but does not make Porto Flavia a nearby outing. Keep the southwestern mining-coast visit separate in your day plan.
The official address is Via Lido 29, outside the old-town core. A useful base for Alghero and a separate Capo Caccia day; confirm parking and the room location before booking.
The saved Gallura base is in Porto Cervo. San Pantaleo and Spiaggia del Principe are separate outings, rather than walks from every hotel room. Confirm the property’s current facilities, operating dates and arrival arrangements directly.
The hotel is on the road into Cala Gonone, above the harbour area. Its official site describes a town and harbour shuttle; confirm the current timetable when arranging an early boat departure.
Curated stays are planning choices, subject to availability. Use current road and site guidance for access; pins are not a driving route.
From Sardinian Adventure
Follow the nights around the island.
Two nights in Cagliari, one in Bosa, two in Alghero, two in Porto Cervo and two in Cala Gonone. Day ten returns toward Cagliari via Barumini, without a selected final stay. Add a buffer night when your departure needs it.
Choose the coast you want most. Cagliari suits city evenings with southern excursions; Alghero combines a town base with northwest outings; Cala Gonone puts Gulf of Orosei departures at the centre of the trip. A short stay works better in one area than as a compressed island loop.
Can I stay in one place for the ten-day route?
The saved Sardinian Adventure uses five overnight bases. Keeping one room would mean repeated long return drives and a different trip. For a single-base holiday, choose the local outings that fit that base and leave the distant coast for another visit.
Can I visit Sardinia without a car?
A town-based stay can use local transport and booked outings, but the saved multi-base route assumes a car. Check current connections for the exact places and hours you need before choosing a car-free version. A harbour shuttle does not replace island transport.
Should I arrive by plane or ferry?
Match the arrival port or airport to your first base and your final departure. A ferry can be useful when bringing a vehicle; confirm the operator’s route, check-in, crossing and vehicle terms. If taking a rental on a ferry, obtain the rental company’s authorization before booking.
When should I book a coastal stay?
Check the property’s operating dates and the excursions you want together. A room available outside the main beach season does not establish that a boat trip, beach facility or resort service is running. Confirm your specific dates directly.
Are these hotel prices or available rooms?
No. This guide compares locations and arrival tradeoffs. Open a hotel guide, choose dates and occupancy, and confirm the final total, taxes, inclusions and cancellation terms with the provider.
