More about this place
Balme–Le Tour–Vallorcine Ski Area is a quieter two-sided domain with wide, confidence-building pistes at the Swiss end of the valley. The Le Tour side is open and panoramic; the Vallorcine side drops through trees and feels more sheltered and secluded.
Intermediates can build mileage without Grands Montets intensity, while stronger skiers use the same terrain for fast laps and snow-quality scouting. Start from Le Tour when the group wants simple bus access and broad pistes; use Vallorcine when rail timing and the forested descent fit better.

Original curator notes · check current details.
The official forecast runs December 12–April 11, subject to snow. Wind can affect the exposed link between sides, so review the live map before committing to a return route and leave enough time to descend on the correct side.

Plan this stop
Choose the approach and return side before skiing. Keep enough time for the last lift and your valley connection; this is a separate sector from the other saved ski days.
