7 days in France

Paris Highlights

I love how this France base can become two completely different trips: Paris for museums, galleries, gardens, food, and the intensity of Art Week; Chamonix for alpine history, exposed viewpoints, and ski days shaped by the mountain. Give each place its own rhythm—leave room for an unexpected Paris discovery, and let live conditions decide every high-altitude plan.

Give each neighborhood room to breathe.

This seven-day city plan groups major sights by neighborhood and gives Versailles its own day. Museum closing days and timed tickets can change the order; allow travel and security time between reservations.

Choose the main booking first

Louvre and Orangerie on the same day need careful pacing. A single main museum, gardens and an optional second visit can make a more comfortable day. Keep Versailles separate and verify its ticket and transport before setting off.

Keep the overnights explicit

La Demeure Montaigne is saved on all seven days, including the final day. Check whether you need that last night before booking, and plan the airport transfer from your actual hotel.

Longer versions add separate Giverny and Champagne days. Giverny is in Normandy and Reims is in Champagne; neither is a Paris neighborhood. Monet’s house and gardens list an April 1–November 1 season for 2026. Confirm the next season and the Vernon–Giverny connection before keeping that day in a winter plan. On the Champagne day, a cathedral-inclusive tour covers Reims Cathedral in the same booking; check the meeting city and avoid booking a second visit that conflicts with the tour.

Read the complete starting plan below

All original days, places and selected overnights remain in the plan. Changes in the planner need a fresh check of travel, access and nights. Paris and Chamonix are separate bases; allow a transfer day if combining them.
