More about this place
Glen Coe Visitor Centre is an introduction to the people, geology and living landscape behind one of Scotland's most dramatic glens. The reconstructed turf-and-creel house adds a tangible sense of earlier Highland life, complementing the views outside.
Allow about two hours for the centre's interpretation, the open reconstructed-house experience and the immediate grounds. Use the current programme for any guided introduction. Longer Greenway or woodland routes begin in this area but are separate outings with their own walking allowance.
Check opening hours and the access arrangements before arriving, especially outside the main season. Parking and visitor-centre charges follow the current National Trust for Scotland policy. Bring a weather layer for the outdoor elements and keep a shorter indoor visit available if heavy rain makes the wider landscape less inviting.
