More about this place
Glen Coe Greenway Walk is a lower-level route into the glen where woodland opens gradually to immense mountain walls. It offers a real landscape walk without making a summit climb the default way to appreciate Glen Coe.
Start at the National Trust for Scotland visitor centre, follow the signed Greenway into the glen and retrace the route. Allow one to three hours for the roughly five-kilometre return walk and pauses. The extra route to Signal Rock adds distance and uneven terrain and is excluded from this core outing.
Use the current route information and follow signed crossing points carefully where roads are involved. The main Greenway is intended to accommodate wheeled users, but weather and temporary work can affect access; the Signal Rock extension is not equivalent. Carry water and a rain layer, and choose a turnaround point that leaves a comfortable return.
