I’d include Sacré-Cœur Basilica for a garden walk.

I love how this France base can become two completely different trips: Paris for museums, galleries, gardens, food, and the intensity of Art Week; Chamonix for alpine history, exposed viewpoints, and ski days shaped by the mountain. Give each place its own rhythm—leave room for an unexpected Paris discovery, and let live conditions decide every high-altitude plan.

Sacré-Cœur Basilica is a prominent landmark and a symbol of hope and faith of Paris. Perched atop the highest point of the city, Montmartre hill, it offers breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere, apart from being an architectural marvel.

While the views are great from the base of the cathedral, we strongly recommend climbing up to the dome to get the best panoramic views of Paris.

The basilica is renowned for its stunning Romano-Byzantine architecture, with its white domes being a distinctive feature visible across much of Paris. The design includes a large central dome, four smaller domes, a grand portico with three arches, and a bell tower housing one of the world's heaviest bells.

The interior of the basilica is equally impressive, with a large mosaic of Christ in Majesty, one of the largest in the world, dominating the apse. The interior is adorned with sculptures, paintings, and stained-glass windows, adding to the spiritual and artistic ambiance.

TIP: Go early, keep valuables secure on the crowded approach, and remember that dome access uses a separate exterior entrance and many stairs.

Hôtel Le Grand Mazarin is a design-led luxury hotel in the Marais, created with a theatrical mix of patterned fabrics, painted ceilings, crafted furniture, and playful color. It feels more like an eccentric Parisian residence than a neutral international hotel, while still placing guests within an easy walk of the Seine, Hôtel de Ville, museums, galleries, and nightlife.

Rooms and suites continue the layered decorative story with rich textiles and individually composed details; category matters because central-Paris footprints vary. The property’s strongest practical differentiators are its indoor mosaic pool, hammam, fitness and wellness spaces, destination restaurant, and cocktail bar—valuable recovery features during museum-heavy or Art Week days.

TIP: Choose it for bold design, central Marais access, and a genuine pool-and-spa reset; request a quieter room if late-night street activity is a concern.
