More about this place
Neasden Temple is a place of intricately carved stone and living Hindu worship in a corner of northwest London that many visitors never reach. The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir rewards a slow look at its craftsmanship, with patterns, pillars and sculpted details that feel far removed from the city’s familiar royal landmarks.
Allow two hours for the complex and its visitor displays. People of all faiths are welcome, but this is first a place of worship. If you want to see the sacred images during darshan, plan for the published morning or late-afternoon periods rather than assuming every space is available throughout the day.
Entry is free. Dress respectfully, remove footwear where required and follow staff instructions about bags and belongings. Indoor photography is prohibited and pets are not admitted. Use the temple’s public-transport directions: the nearest stations still require a connecting walk or bus.
