Denver & nearby Front Range outings

Use Denver for museums, neighborhoods and an arrival day. Red Rocks is near Morrison, the Flatirons are in Boulder, and Mount Blue Sky is a separate high-mountain excursion west of the city.

Make the trip fit you

Make the choices fit the journey

Choose one main focus

Choose a city cluster around the art museum and Larimer Square or the botanic gardens and City Park. Red Rocks needs its own transfer and event/access check. Save Mount Blue Sky for a separate day with confirmed road access. [6][4]

Choose an overnight that matches

Union Station and downtown suit a city-focused arrival. RiNo suits the Ramble and nearby neighborhood time. Cherry Creek and the Botanic Gardens area are different city bases; none is a mountain trailhead.

Leave room for the mountain weather

High-elevation roads and walks can have snow, strong wind and thunderstorms. Choose an outing within your experience, check the forecast and current official advice, and keep a lower-elevation alternative. [2][3]

Fyno curation is the source for included places and saved route membership (cached October 27, 2026). Official planning sources checked November 5, 2026. 2026 reservation dates are historical season guidance, not a promise for 2027.
