More about this place
Porteau Cove Waterfront is a short break on the shore of Howe Sound, where driftwood, pebbles and dark mountain slopes make the Sea-to-Sky drive feel immediately coastal. It is a place to slow down beside the water rather than hurry through another attraction.
Allow around an hour in the public day-use area for the waterfront, a picnic and views from the accessible pier when it is open. Keep to the shoreline and public facilities; the campground, diving sites and boat launch serve different visits.
Use the designated day-use parking and obey the controlled railway crossing. Bring drinking water and a windproof layer. Tide and weather can change quickly; supervise children on the pier and leave shells, driftwood and marine life where you find them.
