I’d put Killarney Lake Loop on the list for a walk.
More about this place
Killarney Lake Loop is a woodland walk around Bowen Island’s quiet freshwater lake, where the city feels much farther away than the ferry crossing suggests. Mossy forest, wetland edges and water birds give the outing a slower rhythm than a busy waterfront attraction.
Start in Snug Cove, follow the Crippen Regional Park paths towards Killarney Lake, walk the signed lakeside loop and return to the village. Allow about three hours from Snug Cove with pauses; the lake circuit alone is roughly four kilometres, so the village approach adds to that distance.
Wear shoes with grip and bring water and a rain layer. The paths are uneven and can be muddy. Ferry travel is additional, and a ferry connection should leave room for normal waiting rather than depend on reaching the dock just before departure.
