More about this place
Jericho Beach is a west-side shoreline escape where sailboats, mountain views and a more open stretch of beach change the feel of Vancouver. It suits an unhurried few hours with a picnic and time beside the water rather than another crowded central attraction.
Focus on the public beach along the north side of Jericho Park and allow two to three hours. The eastern beach is associated with swimming and the western area with sailing and windsurfing; stay clear of launching activity and choose a comfortable spot for your group.
Beach access is free, while equipment hire or sailing instruction would be a separate booking. Check current water conditions and seasonal lifeguard coverage before swimming. Bring sun or rain protection as conditions demand, and plan your return transport instead of assuming the beach is beside downtown hotels.
