I’d put English Bay Beach on the list for a beach stop.
More about this place
English Bay Beach is Vancouver's easy downtown encounter with the Pacific shoreline, where the West End meets open water and the seawall. Come for a beach pause, people-watching and the changing light rather than expecting a secluded stretch of sand.
Use the beachfront between Gilford and Bidwell streets as the focus and allow one to two hours to sit, stroll along the shore or picnic. This is a beach visit, not the full Stanley Park seawall circuit; keep cyclists' and pedestrians' marked paths distinct when moving along the waterfront.
Public access is free. Swimming conditions, water quality and seasonal lifeguard coverage must be checked on the day; a beach open for walking is not a promise of supervised swimming. Bring a warm layer for breezy evenings and follow the current city rules for pets, fires and alcohol.
