I’d put Dorman Point Walk on the list for a walk.
More about this place
Dorman Point Walk is a short forest climb on Bowen Island to a rocky lookout over Howe Sound. The ferry landing and little shops of Snug Cove soon give way to trees, with the water and mainland mountains appearing between the branches.
Walk from Snug Cove through Crippen Regional Park towards the signed Dorman Point route, climb to the lookout and return the same way. Allow about an hour for the outing and pauses. This is the shorter island walk; the Killarney Lake loop is a different, longer choice.
The trail is free, with ferry fares and travel to Horseshoe Bay additional. Expect roots, slopes and wet footing rather than a paved promenade. Leave room for the return ferry and a village lunch instead of rushing back to the terminal at the last moment.
