More about this place
Pyramid Island Walk is a small lakeside outing where a footbridge leads to a wooded island beneath Jasper's mountain backdrop. The scale is intimate: a short circuit and a pause by the water can be more rewarding than trying to turn it into a strenuous hike.
Use the designated Pyramid Island access area, cross the pedestrian bridge and follow the maintained island paths before returning the same way. Allow about an hour including photographs and a quiet stop. This visit does not include a circuit of the entire lake or a climb towards Pyramid Mountain.
Check the current access report and park only in designated spaces, which are limited at popular times. Keep to open paths, respect any temporary restrictions and bring a layer for the exposed bridge. Snow or ice can change an otherwise gentle walk; use footwear suited to the actual conditions.
