More about this place
Sunshine Meadows Rock Isle Lake Walk is a summer alpine outing among open meadows, small lakes and the peaks along the Continental Divide. The lake’s little island and the view from Standish make this one of the Rockies’ most distinctive lift-accessed walking days.
Allow about five hours from the Sunshine base for the gondola, Standish chairlift, viewing deck and a signed walk towards Rock Isle Lake before returning by the lifts. Stay on the marked paths to protect the fragile meadows. The lift does not remove the need for walking shoes, weather layers and enough water.
This is a short summer season, not the winter ski visit. The operator currently publishes June 25–September 19, 2027; snow, weather and trail conditions can change access. Confirm the day’s final downward lift and book the summer lift product before setting out. The summer gondola and chairlift ticket costs about US$60 per adult; park admission and meals are separate.
