Where to stay in Alaska

Choose the overnight corridor first: Denali for park days, Girdwood for Alyeska, Seward for the fjords and Homer for Kachemak Bay. Remote lodges need their own transport plan.

Make the trip fit you

Make the days and connections fit

Match the next departure

Compare the actual hotel address with the next bus, boat or flight meeting point. Nearby on a regional map does not always mean close to your departure.

Remote stays change the trip

Camp Denali has a fixed multi-night programme; Orca Island is boat-access only. Settle those stays before connecting them to a road route. [10][9]

Rooms and experiences are separate

Check final room totals, occupancy and cancellation terms. Spa access, tours and transfers need their own inclusion check.

Questions before you go

What should I plan before choosing a base?

Choose the overnight corridor first: Denali for park days, Girdwood for Alyeska, Seward for the fjords and Homer for Kachemak Bay. Remote lodges need their own transport plan. [10][9]

Do map pins include the travel time?

Map pins show locations. Add the approach, any scheduled departure, breaks and the journey to your next overnight.
