Vernazza

Vernazza is one of the five picturesque villages that make up the Cinque Terre. It is nestled in a natural harbor, surrounded by rugged cliffs and hillsides covered in vineyards and olive groves.

The village is characterized by a small square that serves as its main hub, featuring colorful houses, a small harbor filled with fishing boats, and a 15th-century watchtower. The winding narrow alleys lead to stunning views of the sea and the surrounding hills, with plenty of restaurants and bars offering traditional Ligurian cuisine and local wines.

Compared to other villages in the Cinque Terre, Vernazza is known for its lively atmosphere and bustling harbor. The village is situated in a sheltered bay, making it a popular spot for swimming and sunbathing, and its small beach is considered one of the best in the region.

Vernazza is also home to a beautiful 13th-century church, the Church of Santa Margherita di Antiochia, which dominates the village's skyline. Visitors can climb up to the church's bell tower for a breathtaking view of Vernazza and its surroundings.
